West Virginia freshman on Kentucky: ‘They’re going to be 36-1′Rob Dauster Mar 25, 2015, 5:16 PM EDT Getty Images I’ve been saying it all week: half the battle when playing Kentucky is not being intimidated by the fact that, you know, you’re playing Kentucky, and if there is anything that we know about a team coached by Bob Huggins, it’s that they certainly are not going to be intimidated. By anyone. But maybe, just maybe, it’s not a good idea to be as forthright about it as Daxter Miles, Jr. Miles, a freshman guard from Baltimore that plays 20 minutes a night, all-but guaranteed a victory over the Wildcats. “They should be more intimidated, because they’re the ones that got the high standard, and we’re coming for them,” Miles told reporters, according to Brett Dawson of Cats Illustrated. “I give them their props, salute them for getting to 36-0. But tomorrow, they’re going to be 36-1.” He also told reporters that Kentucky doesn’t play hard, which certainly won’t be the case after reporters grilled the Kentucky players about it all day on Wednesday. Miles should be confident about his team. He should believe that they are going to win. And if asked by reporters, he should say as much. But going out of your way to say things like “they’re going to be 36-1″ draws the kind of attention that really doesn’t need to be drawn when you’re playing arguably the best team of the last decade.
