CBS/Turner deliver highest overnight tournament ratings in 25 yearsBy Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer March 30, 2015 11:39 am ET This year's Elite Eight games brought about big-time ratings once again for CBS and Turner Sports. Thet networks announced on Monday morning that coverage to this point of the NCAAs "is delivering the highest average overnight rating in 25 years (since the current television format began in 1991). Through the Elite Eight, the NCAA Tournament is averaging a 7.2/15 overnight rating/share, up 11 percent through the same period last year, based on Nielsen metered market ratings." The Louisville-Michigan State and Duke-Gonzaga doubleheader from Sunday on CBS brought in an 8.6/18 overnight rating/share. That's a 10-percent bump from 2014. Louisville-MSU's 7.6 rating was the highest for an early Sunday Elite Eight game since 1993. Duke-Gonzaga's 9.9 matched the highest mark in 10 years. "Additionally, NCAA March Madness Live has set an all-time record with more than 71 million live video streams through the Elite Eight, surpassing last year's total of 69.7 million live video streams for the entire tournament," CBS/Turner announced.
