At some points during the game today, the Pirates played four freshman. Most of the time they played three freshman. Most of the time they looked pretty good. They are obviously talented and have tons of potential, but they lack experience. (And they have to stop leaving shooters WIDE OPEN time after time.)
Nevertheless, if these players continue to play hard and they stick together, they could become the best team in the Big East- perhaps as early as next season.
There are just so many parallels here when you think of PJ's turnaround in the 1980's. When he finally put his team together after five seasons, it took him two years to start winning.
Assuming Gibbs will return, this is a very dangerous team that could have the best shooting guard in the BE (Gibbs) and the best rebounder (Delgado) on the same team. Whitehead looks as if he could become an excellent PG. He needs more experience. Carrington and Rodriguez are also better than expected.
Yet so many of you a-holes who may or may not be SHU fans are on permanent attack and destroy mode against a bunch of teenagers or other players who not much older.
Some of you people have trouble figuring out where the fukcing game is on TV and you dare to attack players at a time when they need your support more than ever?
You've been pulling the same delusional BS for 30 years. Every coach SHU has had- INCLUDING PJ- has come under severe attacks from you nincompoops. In many cases, many people started during the coach's first year! That includes Willard.
How about you stop attacking and start supporting? At least wait until the season is over. As I always say: The last person I want in my foxhole is a typical SHU fair-weather fan.
