Johnathan Williams III announces he's transferring to Gonzaga
Forward Johnathan Williams III, who led Missouri in scoring and rebounding last season as a sophomore, announced Saturday that he is transferring to Gonzaga.
He announced his decision on his Instagram account.
Williams will have to sit out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules but will have two seasons of eligibility remaining with Gonzaga.
"They're really big on player development and they're a top-10 team every year," Williams told The Spokesman-Review. "I feel like they can make me better."
Williams averaged 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds last season and started all 32 games for Missouri (9-23).
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Williams was ranked No. 35 in the ESPN 100 when he committed to Missouri in 2012.
